Hänsch and Vitronic together at GPEC digital

Internal security in the focus of the trade fair

This year's joint appearance of Hänsch and Vitronic at the GPEC digital trade fair was dedicated to the topic of automated license plate reading (AKLS).

On 13th and 14th of March, the companies presented the new Enforcement Bar to their guests in the City Cube Berlin. This is an AKLS solution integrated into the warning system of emergency vehicles. Integrated into a police warning system of the latest generation, the Enforcement Bar records passing and parking vehicles, for example, and reads out their license plates. Depending on the deployment scenario, the system can capture and read license plates either from a standstill or at full speed. In this way, the Enforcement Bar enables emergency forces to automate the search for vehicles and to react immediately in the event of a hit.

The Enforcement Bar recognizes German and international license plates with a hit rate of over 96 percent. It can do this even at high speeds. The system automatically compares the reading results with police databases and displays the vehicles sought directly. The transmission of hits together with the geodata of the system via the police network to the control centre is also possible in order to plan operations or mobilise additional forces. As a German development, the Enforcement Bar offers data protection at the highest level. All information on license plates that do not match entries in the search database is deleted directly. Data is only transferred in the case of suspicious license plates and using sophisticated encryption technologies via the integrated 4G modem.

The DBS4000 from Hänsch is used as the carrier system. It can be controlled via the familiar control units, for example the HBE300 hand-held control unit, which is available in different country variants and can be flexibly adapted. Hänsch also supplies the tone sequence system and other components of the special signalling system such as take down displays, front flashers or rear flashers.
The system has been tested very successfully in pilot projects and is already being used abroad.

For Hänsch, the first GPEC digital was a complete success, especially to build new networks, use synergies and accelerate projects for the digital future.
