Already in 1985 the Hänsch group of companies developed and produced the first front flashers for the Hessian police motorcycles.
The rapidly increasing traffic density became a problem especially for emergency vehicles, if the usual optical and acustical warning systems couldn't be administrated by the other cars.
As a result the idea to develop directional warning systems for emergency vehicles came up. In the end, the type 40 was started to be produced for the first time, and has been part of our product range ver since.
Because of its importance for the emergency vehicles' safety, the double-flash front flashers are being improved again and again, of course. That's how this product has finally been officially approved in 1997.
